Weekly Devlog - #4
Quotes, Quotes and More Quotes!
The focus of last week was expanding the quote database. We initially started with just 20 quotes for our proof of concept, and that got us moving. Since that point, we have overhauled and refined the design of the typing interface, based in large part to the feedback we have received on our feedback forms and from our discord. To move forward with our plan for a more guided main play mode, we have since expanded the database to 400 quotes. We have also refactored the way the difficulty level of each quote is analysed for difficulty, resulting in a better balance of quotes at all 4 difficulty levels, instead of having the majority of quotes being in the 2nd and 3rd levels.
Bug Fixes / Optimizations
In addition to the quote additions we took time to sort out a few frustrating bugs, and changed the way that we organize and access the quotes. This has led to better load times and a more responsive WebGL build! We are also no longer spamming the Linux terminal with debug logs. We are new to the Linux platform in general and are excited to continue supporting CozyTyper and our future projects as multiplatform games.
Discord
We are excited to finally have our discord server up and running! Discord gives us a great platform for feedback, as well as making it easy for people to keep up with our updates / devlogs / patch notes, as well as some sneak previews of what we are working on next! If that sounds interesting to you, come on by!
